Romilos Kulaks?z passed away peacefully on April 6, 2022 with his family at his side. Born on November 23, 1930 in Constantinople (Istanbul), Turkey, he proudly enlisted in NATO and served in Korea during the Korean War from 1951 to 1953. Initially, Romilos was a shoe designer but decided to change careers and became a sous chef. Before retiring, he work at the Clinton Inn in Tenafly and the Casa Hofbrau in Emerson for many years.
He is survived by his loving wife and companion for over 56 years, Angelique (Diakrousis); his daughter Fotini 'Tiffany' Tsilimidos and her husband Michael; his grandchildren Gerasimos and Nicholas; his brother Pantelis Kulaksiz and sister Urania Kyriazis; his godson Stamatios Diakrousis; and several nieces an nephews.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, April 9th, 10am, at the Saints Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church, 1 Marycrest Road, West Nyack, NY. Burial to follow at Tappan Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Friday, 5-9pm at the Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society (www.cancer.org).
