Rosalie Ann Perini Miller, a longtime resident of Blauvelt, New York, died in Glen Allen, Virginia on February 19, 2026 at the age of 97. She was born in 1928 in Garnerville, New York to Mary A. Campoli and Paul J. Perini. She was raised in West Haverstraw and Orangeburg, New York and attended West Haverstraw High School. She received a Bachelor of Arts degree in music from Manhattanville College in 1956. An accomplished musician, she was the church organist and choir director at St. Catharine’s Church in Blauvelt for over 40 years, and also at St. Mary’s Church in Haverstraw and St. John the Baptist Church in Piermont. She taught music at St. Catharine’s School and Dominican University in Blauvelt, as well as piano to many generations of private students. Prior to her marriage in 1959, she taught at the original Tappan Zee High School in Piermont, the Academy of the Holy Child in Suffern and the original Rockland Country Day School in South Nyack. She performed with the Rockland Lyric Theater and was a member of the Rockland Choral Society for many years. She was married to Edward M. Miller until his death in September 1999. She is survived by eight children: Grace Dommert of League City, Texas; Dolores (Allan) Norton of Kill Devil Hills, North Carolina and Pittsburgh, PAennsylvania; Gregory Miller of Waconia, Minnesota; Christopher (Marianne) Miller of Suquamish, Washington; Matthew (Cynda) Miller of Monticello, New York; William (Lana) Miller of Waconia, Minnesota; Mary Beth (Carl) Orson of Scottsdale, Arizona; and Joseph (Karen) Miller of Bradenton, Florida. She has 18 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, her sister Esther Huebner and her brother Paul Perini, and survived by her brother Joseph Perini of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, as well as many cousins, nieces, and nephews. Among other things, she was known for her love of family, beautiful soprano voice, perfect pitch, ability to transpose music in her head, Christmas caroling through the neighborhood, gourmet cooking skills, and fun and welcoming parties. She loved to point out that she was as old as Mickey Mouse since she was born on his birthday! Visiting hours will be 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Friday, March 6, 2026 at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:30 am on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at St. Catharine’s Roman Catholic Church in Blauvelt. Burial will be private.
In lieu of flowers, family requests donations to a lasting memorial to be established honoring Rosalie’s musical legacy in Rockland County.
