Ross Taylor

Ross Taylor, of Haworth, New Jersey, passed away on September 6, 2026, at the age of 64.

Born on August 31, 1962, in Teaneck, New Jersey, Ross was the son of Jack and Maryann Taylor. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Steve and Jimmy; his sister, Alex; and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Ross is survived by his wife of 31 years, Ellen; his children, Jack and Emily; his sister, Jane (Andrea); and his nieces and nephews, Luke Corring, Sophia Lyon (Carl), Nicole Amoral (Chris), Cody Weyer, Samantha Weyer, Willa Lyon, and Rowan Lyon.

Ross grew up in Closter, New Jersey, where he formed lifelong friendships and countless memories. He graduated from Christopher Columbus High School, Boston in 1980. He went on to build a career in contracting and construction, owning and operating Smallco Tile for almost 35 years.

Ross enjoyed the simple things in life. He loved playing golf, listening to 70s music, coaching his children’s youth sports teams, attending various camping trips, and buying lottery tickets. Perhaps most of all, he loved reminiscing about the past, especially the days and memories made growing up in Closter. He had a quick wit and an unmistakable ability to make people laugh. His stories, humor, and larger-than-life personality will be remembered by everyone who knew him.

Ross will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His memory, his laughter, and the many stories he left behind will live on in those who loved him.

A celebration of Ross' life will be held on Saturday, September 12, 3:00-7:00 PM at Lindgren School.
