Roy B. Nelson passed away peacefully on August 22, 2023, after a short illness.  Roy was born December 18, 1929 in Dumont NJ, the son of Swedish emigrants, Edwin and Ester.   Enlisting in the Air Force after high school, becoming a chief mechanic, achieving rank of Staff Sargent.  He continued his education at Rockland Community College and Dominican College and embarked on career over 30 years at Volvo, Rockleigh, NJ.  Roy married Adelaide (Addie) DosSantos in 1958 after being introduced to his sister's coworker at Mutual of New York. Roy and Adelaide moved to Blauvelt, NY their lifelong home since 1963 and raised a family.  Roy is survived by his wife, sons Robert and David (Amanda Goyette), and grandson Eric Schirner Jr.  He is predeceased by his daughter Doreen, brother Wilbur, and sister Edna Mae Apriceno. Lake George was his favorite place, with many lifelong friendships and memories established there.  Roy and Addie loved traveling across the U.S. and Europe, and spending time reading, visiting family and friends.   He is further survived by a large extended family of brothers- and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
