Ruben Rivera, aged 52, of Orangeburg, NY passed away on April 8, 2023. Ruben was born on July 7, 1970 in the Bronx, NY to Ruben and Nereida Rivera.

Ruben met the love of his life, Ida, when he attended Fordham Preparatory High School. He attended college at SUNY Albany. Ruben joined the NYPD in 1992 to serve his community at the 23rd precinct. He became a detective, then a Sergeant for Manhattan North Narcotics. He ended his 27 year career as part of the Drug Enforcement Task Force in 2019.

Ruben is survived by his loving wife, Ida of 29 years, his sons Ruben and William, and his daughters Sarah and Samantha. He is also survived by his sister, Debbie and her husband Vashuan, sister in law Terry, brothers in law Rene and Omar, and his 8 nieces and nephews.

Ruben was a family man. His fierce loyalty to his family was known and admired by all. He will be dearly missed.

Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 16th at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan from 2pm-8pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, April 17th at 10am at Saint Catharine's Church in Blauvelt, NY. The burial will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Orangeburg, NY. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Lupus Research Alliance.
