IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Sandra Josephine
Votto
October 15, 1940 – January 10, 2026
Sandra Josephine Votto of Whitestone, NY passed away peacefully on Saturday surrounded by her loving family.
Born on October 15, 1940, in Red Bank, New Jersey, Sandra was the beloved daughter of the late Joseph and Jean Bruno. After graduating from high school, she pursued her calling in nursing and became a registered nurse. Sandra devoted her professional life as an operating room nurse, where she was deeply committed to caring for others and making a difference in the lives of those in need. She retired prior to the birth of her first-born son to focus on her growing family.
In 1967, Sandra married the love of her life, Joseph Frank Votto. Together, they built a beautiful life and raised three children: Joseph, Jean Marie and Marc. Sandra was a devoted wife and mother, and in later years, she lovingly cared for her husband during the final years of his life.
Known affectionately as Sandy, she had a true zest for life. She loved to travel, celebrated every holiday with joy, and took great delight in decorating her home from top to bottom – especially during Christmastime, her favorite season. She never missed an occasion – sending cards for every holiday and celebration. Her family often joked that she single-handedly kept Hallmark in business.
She is survived by her beloved children: Joseph Votto (Claudine) of Staten Island, Jean Marie DiDomenico (John) of Seaford, NY and Marc Votto (Nora) of Closter, NJ. She was a proud grandmother to eight grandchildren: Olivia Votto; Anthony Votto, Joseph (Jojo) Votto; Joseph Votto, Matthew Votto, John DiDomenico; Alexandra Votto; and Andrew Votto. She is survived by her sister Rose Marie Leggio of Venice, Florida as well as several nieces and nephews.
Sandra was predeceased by her parents and her husband Joseph Votto.
The family extends their heartfelt thanks to Brightview Tenafly, Foxtrail, and Valley Hospice for their compassionate care and support.
