After a long life filled with family and food, Theresa Gaglio passed away on May 11, 2023. Theresa was born in Manhattan on September 13, 1922, daughter of George Kish. There she met her husband, Vito, and together they raised three children, Mary, Theresa and Fred in New York City. A marvelous cook on a grand scale, Theresa made sure there was always a place at the table and a welcoming plate of meatballs and spaghetti for nearly anyone. After a long career at Daitch Shopwell and A&P, she retired in 1987 to live with her daughter, Mary and son-in-law Raul. Until arthritis kept her from traveling, Theresa was an active member of the Tappan Senior Citizens group. Passing away before her, Theresa's husband Vito and son Fred, beloved father George, sisters Helen and Olga, brothers Michael, Zoltan and John. Theresa is survived by her devoted daughters Mary and Theresa, and her loving daughter-in-law Carol. Her grandchildren, Dee, Randy, Patricia, Joe, Kimberly and Dana will miss their Grandma, as will her four great-grandchildren Clementina, Karenna, Daylen and Nataleigh. Theresa also leaves behind bereft family and friends too numerous to count. Her adopted family, in particular John and Bheem, will also miss Theresa deeply. The September, 2022 100th birthday party was a celebration of Theresa's life by her loving family and dear friends. A final gathering to visit with Theresa's family takes place on Tuesday, May 16th, between 3-7pm at Moritz Funeral Home in Tappan, NY. A funeral service to celebrate Theresa's life will be held on Wednesday, May 17th, 10am at St. Anthony's Church in Northvale, NJ.
