William H. Morrison, of Northvale, New Jersey, passed away peacefully at his home on July 11, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Bill was born on February 6,1943 to Bill (Sr.) and Jean (Castagnetta) Morrison in the Parkchester section of the Bronx. As an only child Bill was fortunate to be part of a large and loving family of cousins.

Growing up in the St. Helena parish and wider Parkchester community provided him an unending supply of playmates, many of whom remained cherished friends throughout his life.

Bill graduated from Fordham Prep and St. Bonaventure University. He was proud to be an Army veteran, having spent his tour of duty in Germany and Poland.

Bill married his loving wife of 54 years Mary (Desmond) on October 4, 1969.They lived for many years and raised they daughter Christine in Bronxville, New York. After retiring from the U.S. Post Office in New York, they relocated to Newtown Square, PA and Westlake, Ohio before returning to New City and finally settling in Northvale.

Along the way, New York Bill, as he was often called, made new friends who shared his many interests and built new memories.

In retirement Bill spent many happy days on golf courses wherever he might be at the time. He was fortunate to travel with Mary and friends. He also could frequently be seen and heard cheering from the sidelines at his grandchildren's sporting events.

Bill invested time in always connecting with and maintaining the many friendships he made across the wide path of his life and those friendships were an important support as he faced health challenges in recent years.

Bill is survived by his wife Mary, daughter Christine and son in law Jason Kavountzis of New City, New York and his grandchildren, Anna, Luke and Alex.

He is also survived by his beloved sisters and brothers in law, many nieces and nephews and the Castagnetta and Morrison family cousins.

The family will receive visitors on Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 4-8 pm at the Moritz Funeral Home 98 Route 303, Tappan, New York 10983.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday, July 19th, 11 am at St. Anthony's Church, 199 Walnut Street, Northvale, New Jersey 07647.

Committal will follow at Rockland Cemetery in Sparkill, NY.
