Obituary

Winsome M. Edwards of Sparkill, NY passed peacefully away on January 2, 2025, having been predeceased by husband Albert 'Eddie' Edwards, the love of her life, and by two elder brothers, Norris and Hal.

Though she and Eddie had no children of their own, Winsome's life was filled with the joy of close family connections. She is survived by her two younger brothers, Denzil and Ken, as well as an extended family of devoted nieces, nephews, and their progeny, who will forever treasure her presence in their lives.

Winsome (in name and nature) was a person of grace, charm, and warmth. She was born on March 5, 1933, in Kingston, Jamaica to Sydney and Millicent Southwood-Smith (nee Mair), graduated from St. Hugh's High School for Girls and began a career at Radio Jamaica. In 1952, Winsome emigrated to the United States where she would create a remarkable life for herself.

Her professional journey began at Sam Tour & Co. in New York City, where fate brought her together with her dear Eddie. Later, Winsome joined Amax Corporation in Greenwich, Connecticut, where her exceptional skills and dedication led her to the role of Administrative Assistant to successive presidents of the company.

Winsome's life was a testament to the power of family connection, Christian devotion, and love.
