Meals on Wheels Programs and Services of Rockland, Inc.
has been offering nutritional, recreational, and social support programs to Rockland County seniors since 1974 and can also provide assistance to seniors and their families through referrals to senior services throughout the county. Their programs include:
- The Homebound Program provides one or two meals a day to anyone who is homebound due to illness, disability or advanced age. We can meet avariety of dietary needs.
- The Senior Centers Program is open to anyone who is age 60 years or older, or married to someone who is 60 years or older. Friendship, a nutritious lunch, recreation, health screening and advocacy are among the services available at our five sites. Door-to-door transportation is available.
- The Bobbi Lewis Adult Day Center is a social model Adult Day Care Center that assists people diagnosed with Alzheimers's disease and related cognitive disorders. The Center offers a warm home-like environment and structured programming supervised by a specially trained, caring, professional staff. Recreational and therapeutic activities, nutritious lunch and snacks, transportation to and from the center, caregiver respite and support, as well as information and referral are provided.
- The Adult Learning Center provides computer training for adults. Courses are limited to a maximum of eight students, are taught by one instructor and two coaches and provide more individualized attention at a pace tailored to senior's needs.
- Magnolia Meals at Home Program - is a free meal delivery program that provides nutritious meals to people living with breast cancer and their families.
